Eastern Idaho Indoor Light Painting

Eastern Idaho Indoor Light Painting

Have you guys heard of light painting? Well let me tell you about it! Light painting is a lighting technique used in photography where we underexpose the subject so much that we can only see it with a flashlight or a speedlight! This is awesome because you’re able to illuminate only certain parts of your picture to make it interesting. And guess what? Eastern Idaho is the best place to do it!

My class and I went to Victor, Idaho and spent a weekend over there. We were able to do so much! Here’s some of my indoor light painting photos. I had so much fun! I was able to do a lot of these with other students, and some on my own. I was able to get three different styles of indoor light painting: Table top, Close up: macro light painting, and Faux Bokeh: part of the picture in focus and part blurry. It was awesome.

  1. Karla!! I love your light paintings! I love how creative you got with the angles. My favorite is definitely the fish hooks! I love how you close you were and the incredible detail! Check out Stephanie’s at http://www.stephanieholcombe.com/indoor-light-painting/ She has a really cool angle of the giraffe 🙂
